Engr. Mojeed Balogun presents2022 Budget to the Legislature

Chairman,Ikeja Local Government Area, Engr Mojeed Balogun yesterday presented the year 2022 Appropriation to the Legislature.

Budget of Sustainable Economic Growth and Infrastructural Renewal was formally presented to the Legislature at the Council Chamber.

In his brief remarks, Engr. Balogun thanked the councillors for working harmoniously with the executive since they were inaugurated.

He charged the concillors to ensure the speedy passage of the Appropriation with a view to allow the executive commence the implementation of the budget for the benefit of Ikeja residents.

The council boss solicited for the support, understanding and cooperation of the law makers for speedy hearing to hasten the domestication of the various sectors of the appropriation to serve as catalyst for enhanced budget implementation.

Engr. Balogun promised the lawmakers that his administration would not betray the confidence vested in the executive, adding that ” we shall continue to strive to deliver dividends of democracy to our citizens through our people oriented programmes and projects”.

In his own response, Council Leader, Councillor Ayotunde Adenuga,opined that for the budget to have been tagged Budget of Sustainable Economic Growth and Infrastructural Renewal, it was in tandem with the SDG goals of the United Nations and also validated the effectiveness of our roles as local government which will be instrumental towards advancing the needs of the people of Ikeja local government.

The leader , therefore, craved the indulgence of all major stakeholders to put all hands on deck to ensure that the focus of the budget for the year 2022 was fulfilled with the mandate to bring about economic and Infrastructural growth and transformation to the local government.
