Yomi Mayungbe is the Current Vice Chairman Ikeja Local Government  Area. He was born into the Mayungbe family in Epe town, Lagos State. His parents are Alhaji Salaudeen and Madam Adikat Mayungbe. He attended Moslem Primary School, Isoku Ijebu Ode. He proceeded to Adeola Odutola College Ijebu Ode. for his secondary education. He attended Lagos State College of Education for N.C.E Programme. Later went to University of Ado-Ekiti for his degree Programme in Education in Political Science.

Mr. Yomi Mayungbe started his political career in 1987 with lifting of ban on Politics by Babangida Administration. He participated in zero party election in 1987/88 at Local Government level. He was variously elected as Ward Chairman between 1990 –1992. On March 5^th 1992 he was appointed supervisor of Works (Housing) Ikeja Local Government till November 17^th, 1997. He was unsuccessful in his bid to become chairman of Ikeja in 1998. However lucky smile on him in 2017 when he was called to be Vice Chairman as a result of his past effort. As vice chairman. Mr. Yomi Mayungbe is totally committed to working in concert with his immediate boss, Dr. Eng. Mojeed Alabi Balogun to consolidate grass root governance in Ikeja Local Government Area.
